Meta Releases 'Sharing to Reels' Option

With short-form videos highly trending, Meta turns to promote its Reels on Instagram and Facebook by releasing 'Sharing to Reels', a new feature that allows users to immediately post videos from third-party apps to Facebook Reels.

Third-party applications will have a Reels button after they've been integrated, enabling users to upload short videos and then tweak them using Reels editing features like audio, text, effects, captions, and stickers. They can now make and share videos immediately instead of downloading and uploading them later.

During the announcement, Meta has featured partners such as Smule, Vita, and VivaVideo, who have incorporated #SharingtoReels into their platforms and are exploring new methods for Creators to express themselves, expand their communities, and engage new audiences.

Users will be able to find Reels according to their interests and what's popular in the following places: the top of Feed, the Watch Tab, Stories, and Groups.

Audio, augmented reality effects, and captions with hashtags or tags for other accounts may all be included in Reels. Once someone posts their reel to Facebook using a third-party app, friends and family can now simply follow, like, comment, and share it.

According to the official announcement, “Meta is focused on making Reels the best way for creators to get discovered, connect with their audience, and earn money. We also want to make it fun and easy for people to find and share relevant and entertaining content."

Reels is currently accessible in over 150 countries throughout the world.
