Tiktok Is Beta-Testing A New Desktop Live-Streaming App Aimed For Gamers
This may be interesting: TikTok is now testing a new desktop streaming tool that would allow users to broadcast directly to TikTok Live from their PCs, allowing for more ways to connect with the TikTok audience.
The new 'TikTok Live Studio' program, as seen in these screenshots by journalist Zach Bussey, allows for direct broadcasting from a desktop, with live chat on the right side of the screen and extended connection and encoding choices.
The app is geared toward game streaming, with a variety of gaming features built-in, but the ability to stream from a desktop could open up a slew of new possibilities, with brands potentially being able to broadcast more professional streams directly to TikTok's massive audience thanks to these new control and editing options. However, it is not yet generally distributed. TikTok told TechCrunch that TikTok Live Studio is only available 'in a few of Western markets for a few thousand people for now.'
Still, it's something to think about for your future video content strategy, and with TikTok focusing more on live-stream shopping and adding additional capabilities to promote commerce and conversion, it could end up being a useful addition in the future.
We'll keep you informed of any developments.
