Instagram Adds A New Feature That Allows User To Embed On Third-Party Websites

With a new option to embed a small version of your Instagram profile on third-party sites, Instagram is adding another tool to promote your Instagram presence outside of the app. As you can see in this example, you'll now be able to link to an Instagram profile from within a website, giving you another opportunity to communicate with a user other than through the app's specialized content.

For many years, you've been able to embed an Instagram photo or video onto a website. This takes that concept a step further by allowing you to embed a small version of your Instagram profile on your website. Perhaps you'd like to feature your Instagram material on a website or connect to someone else's.

It's difficult to say how useful that will be. For many brands, it's preferable to keep visitors on your website rather than sending them to Instagram, yet introducing visitors to your Instagram account could be another strategy to encourage continued engagement. You'd also think that most embeds in the context of a blog article would be for a single reference image or video rather than a complete profile, but there could be use cases and chances for the tool - and having more direct connection capabilities in this regard is always advantageous.

Referring customers to influencers with whom your company has collaborated who feature your products in their Instagram posts is one example. Perhaps connecting to an Instagram account can serve as a visual showcase to complement your website photographs while also improving community interaction – and hence reach – in the app.

It can be utilized in a variety of ways, albeit it appears to be less valuable than post embeds in general. Still, it's something to think about. At this time, Instagram profile embeds are only available to users in the United States.
