WhatsApp Announces a New Option for Transferring Chat Data Between Android and iOS
Users of WhatsApp will finally have the ability to move their entire chat history between Android and iOS devices, adding to Facebook's broader data portability effort.

As seen here, WhatsApp users will soon be able to transfer their chats to a new device type, making it easier to keep conversations and context when switching phones.
According to Engadget:
"[The export chat option will] initially reach Android phones, starting with Samsung phones running Android 10 or newer (including the new foldables), but it'll eventually be available on both operating systems."
The ability to move your WhatsApp data has long been a requested feature, as the app's privacy characteristics prevent you from logging in on another OS and viewing your entire chat history. The new transfer procedure will leave your WhatsApp message threads completely intact by transferring all components of your existing chats, along with photos and voice memos.
WhatsApp shared the news at Samsung's 2021 Galaxy Unpacked event, where the company unveiled a slew of new products and features. Samsung will stand to gain from the update, since it could allow current iPhone users to change to Android without fear of losing their chat history.
As previously stated, the release is part of Facebook's broader data portability initiative, and has witnessed the company bring out a variety of options for downloading your Facebook data for use in other services.
Facebook recently updated its Transfer Your Information tool to make it simpler for users to download their information, as well as adding the ability to export photos and videos, along with text-based data, all of which can be moved to Google Docs, Blogger, and/or WordPress.
With this, it will certainly be a tool that'll be widely used. And, according to WhatsApp, its users will be able to access the tool in the next few weeks.
