Instagram Introduces Enhanced Tags

Instagram has introduced enhanced tags with the goal of making it easier for creators to get credit for their work.

Rightful crediting has long been a source of worry for artists, especially for disadvantaged and underrepresented creators and collaborators who are frequently hidden behind the scenes, and Instagram has responded by launching tags that highlight creator credits.

Credit and acknowledgment for creative work are seen as a springboard for new ideas, possibilities, and economic growth. Crediting is a common first step in the process of establishing a profession as a creative.

Users have discovered additional ways to credit authors, such as tagging one another in captions and photographs, thus the platform has implemented this option to allow users to acknowledge creators consistently.

Enhanced tags allow others to share and examine a creator's specific contribution to a photo or video post by displaying their self-designated profile category on their professional accounts in their People Tag. Collaborators, artists, and others whose contributions are frequently hidden on the screen will now be more evident in the post.

How to Make Enhanced Tags Work for You

  • Tap the (+) in the top right corner of the Instagram app.

  • Tap Next after creating a new Post.

  • Make any necessary creative changes before moving on to the next step.

  • Tap Tag People after you've finished crafting your caption.

  • Add a tag, then search for and pick your contributors.

  • To see the creator category, tap Show Profile Category.

  • Select Done.

  • After you've added all of your tags and details, press Share.
