Google Outlines Growing Wedding Trends as Planning Recommences

This wouldn't be for all, and it will not apply to all types of businesses. However, if your company is involved in the wedding industry, Google's latest search trends update is worth reading.

Google has released some important observations on the most searched wedding trends, which, as per Google, see a spike in interest in September every year.

According to Google:

“We tend to think about “proposal season” as timed to the winter holidays, or big days like New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day. The actual proposal peak, though? September. With the exception of 2020, every year for the last five years, search interest in marriage proposals has peaked every September in the U.S. Who knows whether it’s the smell of pumpkin spice lattes or the new school year, but for whatever reason, this is when Americans these days prefer to get down on one knee.”

And, as the vaccine program progresses and a future that includes social gatherings resurfaces, that enthusiasm will undoubtedly reach new heights in 2021.

As a result, it's worth noting that, according to Google, the most frequently asked questions about marriage proposals are:

  1. How to propose to a girl?

  2. What knee do you propose on?

  3. How soon is too soon to propose?

  4. Should I propose before or after dinner?

  5. How to get your boyfriend to propose?

There's a lot of tailored advice being pursued there, but there might be some ideas for promotions or tie-in campaigns directly relevant to the proposal aspect.

The most popular engagement ring styles are also outlined by Google.

It even includes a list of the most frequently referenced celebrity engagement rings, with Ariana Grande and Gwen Stefani at the top of the list.

Google also mentions the most frequently asked questions about bachelor/bachelorette parties, such as what to wear and what to do, as well as providing trend insights into the most popular wedding gown styles based on search volume.

  1. Boho wedding dress

  2. Beach wedding dresses

  3. Mermaid wedding dress

  4. Simple wedding dress

  5. Short wedding dress

Suit color trends are also discussed:

Again, the development of COVID vaccines in progress is taking shape, and while there are still obstacles in the way of full opening and constraints on what can be done, revitalized enthusiasm certainly creates hope for many of the planning for their nuptials, which had their big day postponed as a result of the pandemic.

With all of this in mind, now might be a good time to capitalize on these trends by creating campaigns based on popular search queries.
