Facebook Teams Up with Coursera for New Career Certificate Courses

As Facebook seems to play a big role to the economic development globally, the platform has announced yesterday two new digital skills training initiatives, namely Marketing Analytics and Software Development in partnership with Coursera.
"Building upon our Social Media Marketing Certificate, these career certificates will support learners with both transferable and technical skills they need to get a job. Like the Social Media Marketing professional certificate, these programs will also be self-paced and designed to be completed within 20 weeks, teaching foundational skills through project-based and online instructor-led learning." Facebook explained.
These two new programs will provide another pathway in learning in-demand skills directly from Facebook.
In addition, Facebook is also ensuring that people from diverse backgrounds will have access to the new trainings they will be offering.
"To ensure diverse learners can access our job seeker program, we are giving 100,000 scholarships to Facebook Certification to Black learners and 3,000 scholarships to COVID-19 displaced agency professionals globally. We are also providing scholarships for certifications to non-profits serving Latinx, Indigenous learners, refugees, reentering citizens, underserved schools, veterans and military families, and socio-economically disadvantaged groups globally." Facebook added.
Facebook has joined hands with over 70 community organizations as well, to facilitate the program roll-out. The list of these organizations include Rainbow PUSH Coalition, Urban League of Detroit and Southeastern Michigan, Thurgood Marshall College Fund and more.
Full course information will be updated on Facebook's digital skills hub once these new trainings become available. Don't forget to check it out some time!
