Celebrate LGBTQ+ Culture and Community All Year Round through Facebook New Guide for Businesses
As we are celebrating Pride Month this June, Facebook launches a new guide for businesses on how they can support the community not just for a month but all year round.
Since the pandemic has started, diverse-owned businesses have been hardest hit by it, including those owned by the LGBTQ+ community, which is why Facebook decided to use platforms to share and spotlight LGBTQ+ owned businesses throughout the season and beyond, and offer resources and training to help businesses move forward with pride.
A guide with cover art designed by Memphis-native illustrator and designer Mia Saine, a non-binary Black creative seeking to share a more positive, inclusive narrative. Click the link below.
According to Facebook:
"Pride Month is a chance for businesses and marketers to pause and consider how we can become better allies of the LGBTQ+ community. But the work is too important to end in June. When businesses speak out, people listen, and by spotlighting community voices, celebrating and upholding the value of LGBTQ+ lives, educating ourselves and others, and taking proudly public stances that show ongoing support for diversity and individuality we can seize the opportunity to nudge society toward greater acceptance and inclusion."
The guide contains 21 pages including statistics, notes and other remarks that can contribute for the improvement of the diversed businesses.
Throughout Pride, everyone will continue to elevate the voices of LGBTQ+ businesses and engage in important conversations, sharing opportunities to bring people closer by fostering diverse and inclusive communities, this year and beyond.
